In a sense that we have been creating gods in ancient times for all diverse purposes, I'm talking about the polytheists, very common in the past. There is one I met in person in the end of 70’s and I was following religiously by the 80’s, yes I’ still remember answering every mandatory call announcing his show. This guy who was capable to transform everything around, just showing, like a magician that keeps the audience attention, don’t letting them even blink. In the music category The soccer or “brujo” use to play 3 to 4 hours concerts without break. I have the privilege to hear and see every single concert of him at this time. His name? Hermeto Pascoal. There is so many stories about him. One includes when he met Miles Davis in a festival and Miles said that Hermeto was “the most impressive musician in the world” he was invited by Miles Davis to record with him on the live album Live Evil. Davis also selected two of Pascoal's compositions for that album: "A Igrejinha" and "Nenhum Talvez." In fact, Miles selected 11 songs of Pascoal's material, but Pascoal wanted to release his solo album and let go only those two. As Miles had a habit of taking credit for tunes written by his groups' members, both were erroneously published under his name. Pascoal credits that to producer's tactics, not to Miles'. Asked later about this fact, Hermeto one more time shows generosity saying that he wasn’t upset about not having his credits on the Live Evil’s album, things of god’s.
